Marc Su’s futuristic silhouette combined Air Max innovation with references to Nike’s late-’90s Alpha Project.
Nike introduced the Air Max Link, a futuristic 3D-printed silhouette created by Beijing-based designer Marc Su through the brand’s AirWorks program. The design was developed as a connection between Beijing’s creative community and the future of Air Max.
The sneaker featured a sculpted midsole that curved upward around the heel, layered rear detailing and smooth panels extending toward the toe. Pointed overlays and distinctive collar openings added to its experimental appearance, while two visible Air units were positioned at the forefoot.
Drawing inspiration from the Air Max 1000 and Nike’s late-1990s Alpha Project, the Air Max Link reflected the AirWorks program’s focus on exploring new possibilities through 3D-printed footwear. Nike developed the project with its mentors and Zellerfeld as part of a global group of designers creating new Air Max expressions.
A small friends-and-family run was expected ahead of Air Max Day 2027, while wider public release details remained unconfirmed.
