The British designer’s metallic sneakers have been a success — now, she’s introducing reversible sequins.

First revealed during Wales Bonner’s Spring/Summer 2025 runway show, the new Wales Bonner x adidas Karintha Sequin sneaker has remained fairly lowkey until now. Recent product images highlight its shimmering sequin upper, which reflects tones of black, brown, silver, and gold. The design blends Y2K-inspired aesthetics—like slim soles and minimalist uppers—with classic adidas DNA. Matte brown fabric contrasts the sequins, appearing on the stripes, heel tab, and tongue, while the outsole features a futuristic grid texture stamped with a trefoil logo.

Wales Bonner has made a name for herself by reshaping menswear through expressive, boundary-pushing footwear. She’s embraced traditionally feminine elements like embroidery, animal prints, and Mary Jane silhouettes in previous collaborations and original designs. Standout releases include the metallic “Silver Samba,” the “Pony Leopard,” and the Jewel Sneakers, which merge sneaker and Mary Jane styles with bold materials.

In early 2025, she also launched her first womenswear line, blending tailored elegance with gender-fluid pieces seen in both FW24 and FW25 campaigns. Touches of lace, jewel tones, and vintage-inspired prints signal a continued move toward androgynous styling.

Although an official release date hasn’t been confirmed, sources from Sneaker Market suggest the Wales Bonner x adidas Karintha Sequin could launch in Europe by late April or early May.
