Los Angeles based ‘fashion and function’ boutique worked with the Air Jordan brand in the summer to release a capsule collaboration “Tent & Trail”. The collab was a success with the release of two special edition Air Jordan 4. Now both brands team together again to work on the classic silhouette of Air Jordan 2.
This project is said to produce two special colorways of Air Jordan 2 and one of the official releases named “Grey Fog” can be seen now. The sneakers upper is constructed with ballistic mesh base in light grey with a suede overlay on the side panel in light grey as well.
The suede overlay is given details with perforations across the profile in an aqua blue color that goes along the outline and underneath the overlay to accent the design. The shoe collar features more circles that look like Air Jordan 13 dimples pattern with a sample tag featuring Wings logo, Union LA branding, and a stamp of HO21 that could be meant for Holiday 2021.
To elevate the look of the shoe - newly added aqua blue plastic eyelets were put on the lace guard with slightly yellow color laces. Union and Jordan's joint brandings are put on the tongue tag as well as on the shoe bed inside.
Another mark is the use of deconstructed tongue with exposed foam that is like Union’s signature work with Air Jordan. All put together on top of white midsole pair with grey outsoles. Original “NIKE” branding adorn bottom of the soles as well as the back heel to complete to the classic look of the shoes.
While a release date has yet to be announced, expect the Union LA x Air Jordan 2 “Grey Fog” as well as the yet-to-be-seen “Rattan” colorway to drop at the end of 2021.
