The intricately designed sneaker celebrates the 10th anniversary of Kobe Bryant’s iconic 60-point final game.
A decade after Kobe Bryant delivered one of the most iconic farewell performances in sports history, Nike brought back a deeply symbolic design. The Nike Kobe 11 EM Protro “Mamba Day” was officially scheduled for a public release on April 13, 2026, aligning with the 10-year anniversary of the late legend’s historic 60-point final game in Los Angeles.
Originally unveiled exclusively through the Nike iD platform in 2016, the retro marked the first time the “Mamba Day” concept received a confirmed, widespread release. For its Protro return, Nike carefully preserved the intricate storytelling that made the original so meaningful to fans worldwide.
The engineered mesh upper featured a layered numerical graphic, with each number representing key milestones from Bryant’s career—his jersey numbers 8 and 24, debut and final game dates, five championships, 18 All-Star selections, four All-Star MVPs, and his legendary 81-point game. The sleek black base was enhanced with metallic gold accents, including a bold Swoosh and signature branding.
As a Protro model, the sneaker also included modern performance upgrades, ensuring it remained responsive on the court. It launched alongside the Kobe 11 Elite Protro “Fade to Black” to commemorate the annual Mamba Day celebration, releasing via Nike SNKRS and select retailers.
