The iconic pair is set to make a comeback to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
The Air Jordan 1 High OG “Shattered Backboard” is making a highly anticipated return in 2025, marking a significant milestone in the sneaker world. The re-release will not only celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic Air Jordan 1 but also the 10th anniversary of the original “Shattered Backboard” colorway, which was first launched in 2015. This colorway, inspired by Michael Jordan’s famous dunk during a 1985 exhibition game in Italy that shattered the backboard, has become one of the most beloved and iconic AJ1 releases over the years.
The design remains faithful to its original look, featuring a combination of black, starfish orange, and sail, with premium leather used throughout the upper. The thematic sockliner, which ties back to Jordan’s legendary moment, will also make a return. While Jordan Brand has not officially confirmed the re-release, the sneaker has already made its presence felt with early images and leaks. Fans of the colorway can expect the 2025 version to stay true to the original, with no major alterations.
The release is expected to take place on July 12, 2025, through Nike SNKRS and select retailers. As a highly anticipated drop in the ongoing celebration of the Air Jordan 1’s 40th anniversary, the “Shattered Backboard” re-release is sure to attract a lot of attention from sneakerheads and collectors alike.
