Fishhook Swooshes are included.
Following the appearance of official photos earlier in February, the Nike Dunk Low "Rainbow Trout" has now been given a confirmed June 16 release date. The official state fish of Oregon, where Nike's headquarters are located, is credited as the colorway's inspiration. The side leather panels are adorned with trout motifs, while the tongue tab and insoles make overt mentions of fish.
As the Nike Dunk trots into the new year with a variety of releases planned, it seems like every season is Dunk season. Nike has created a fish-themed "Rainbow Trout" iteration of the Dunk Low that joins a silver pair that was previously unveiled in having fishhook lateral Swooshes.
The branding elements aren't the only parallels to fish in an early look at the colorway because the ripstop base has a pattern like that of a rainbow trout. These yellow specks blend in with the lateral's golden yellow scaly Swooshes, which sparkle with a fishhook pattern attached. Forest green paint covers rough suede overlays, and patches of orange and pink suede make up the heel. A fish drawing and the words "Nike Beaverton 1972" are written on the ripstop tongue, which has orange stitching that matches the cream sole of the shoe.
Nike has not yet announced a release date for the "Rainbow Trout" Nike Dunk Low or its silver equivalent. In the upcoming months, Nike and a few other stores should have it available for purchase.
