Drawing inspiration from the color palette of Travis Scott's alma mater.
Finally, the debut of the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Canary” is imminent, marking the first of many Air Jordan 1 Low OGs approved by Cactus Jack set to launch this year. Scheduled for release on May 17 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers, these sneakers will start at a price of $150 USD.
Taking cues from Scott's high school, Lawerence E. Elkins High in Missouri City, Texas, the shoes boast a white pebbled leather base, yellow suede overlays, and the rapper’s signature backwards Swoosh in blue pebbled leather. Despite the leaked images being heavily watermarked, they reveal numerous accompanying details. The sneakers come with yellow, red, and blue laces, feature Cactus Jack branding on the lateral quarter, left heel tab, and insoles, and are complemented by white midsoles and soft brown outsoles.
Unlike Scott's previous collaborations with fragment design and Jordan Brand, which often featured murky or earthy tones, the “Canary” stands out with its vibrant yellow and blue shades. Interestingly, these colors bear resemblance to those of Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina — Michael Jordan’s alma mater, which has served as inspiration for several Air Jordan releases over the years.
