The Caitlin 1 introduces new performance technology alongside an 18-piece apparel collection inspired by Clark’s game and personal style.
Nike has officially introduced the Caitlin 1, Caitlin Clark’s first signature basketball sneaker, marking a new chapter in the athlete’s partnership with the brand. Designed around Clark’s speed, shooting range and unpredictable playing style, the silhouette is built to provide lightweight support and responsiveness for players looking to move quickly and confidently on the court.
One of the key innovations featured on the Caitlin 1 is Nike’s new Opticast upper. The construction uses molded polyurethane nodes at varying heights to create lightweight, locked-in support while helping reduce drag during movement. Its visual design is also inspired by the ripple effect of a three-point shot, adding a subtle connection to Clark’s reputation as a long-range shooter.
Underfoot, the sneaker combines a responsive forefoot Air Zoom Turbo unit with a Cushlon foam midsole. This setup is designed to provide a balance of cushioning, court feel and quick feedback, helping players stay controlled while changing direction and accelerating across the floor. The shoe is also offered across youth sizing, with adjustments made to improve flexibility and movement for younger athletes.
The Caitlin 1 incorporates several personal details connected to Clark. The Opticast nodes form repeated “C” shapes on the lateral side, while “2” motifs appear on the medial side as a reference to her jersey number. Her signature logo appears on the tongue alongside stacked Swooshes, while the outsole features phrases including “Shoot More Threes,” “From Anywhere” and “It Was Never a Long Shot.”
Alongside the footwear, Nike has introduced an 18-piece Caitlin 1 signature apparel collection designed to transition between basketball and everyday wear. The range includes jackets, graphic hoodies, T-shirts and other essentials, with performance-focused pieces incorporating Nike’s Aero-FIT technology and cement-inspired graphics connected to Clark’s early basketball experiences.
The collection also introduces Standard Issue Stretch, bringing Nike’s Standard Issue design language to women’s basketball apparel for the first time. Combining performance materials with a more contemporary approach to athletic styling, the range extends Clark’s signature collection beyond the court while maintaining its connection to her playing style and personal story.
