In-depth Examination of the Collaboration Between Awake NY and the Jordan Air Ship

Unveiled during the grand opening celebration of Awake's latest store in June, the partnership is now anticipated to launch this upcoming spring.

In 2023, Awake NY and Jordan Brand commenced a new partnership, debuting their inaugural joint project with a vibrant rendition of the Air Ship. Unveiled at a lively opening event for Awake NY's flagship store in NYC's Lower East Side, the sneaker was showcased discreetly, suspended from the ceiling, embodying a subtle allure. While the precise design inspiration remains undisclosed, the collaborative Air Ship showcases a strikingly eclectic color palette: the right foot boasts red snakeskin accents and trim, contrasting with blue snakeskin details on the left. 

This harmonious interplay of colors is complemented by silver Swooshes, white leather uppers, weathered midsoles and outsoles, and an outlined rendition of Awake NY's "A" logo adorning the lateral forefoot. Although the Awake NY x Jordan Air Ship marks the debut collaboration between Angelo Baque's brand and the Jumpman, it signifies a continuation of Awake NY's history of collaborative footwear ventures. Apart from the previously mentioned ASICS collaboration, which spanned from 2019 to earlier that year, Awake NY has partnered with Reebok from 2019 to 2021, Timberland in 2020, Vans in 2021 and 2023, and Crocs from 2021 to 2022. 

After over eight months since the initial glimpse of the Awake NY and Jordan Brand's collaborative Air Ship colorways, anticipation builds for its impending release this spring via Nike SNKRS and select retailers, priced at $150 USD. The "University Red" iteration is now under closer scrutiny, with a detailed examination highlighting the shoe's distinctive co-branding, premium leather construction, and textured snakeskin accents. Expect updates on the forthcoming "Royal Blue" variant and official imagery from Nike for both pairs.
