Expected to debut exclusively in Japan first.
The New Balance 1000 has become a sought-after model for high-profile collaborations, with notable partnerships including Joe Freshgoods, Aimé Leon Dore, and others. The latest collaboration brings together New Balance and atmos, offering a fresh and retro-futuristic take on the iconic runner. Teased by atmos’ creative director Hirofumi Kojima, the shoe features an all-over paisley print upper, extending to the interior bootie for a cohesive design. The black suede overlays add depth and contrast, complementing the intricate white embroidered details that enhance the overall aesthetic. Known as the “bāṅdhnū,” the shoe is inspired by bandana patterns, giving it a unique and culturally rich feel.
This collaboration is also a special one for atmos, as it aligns with their 25th anniversary collection, adding to the excitement surrounding the release. The atmos x New Balance 1000 “Bāṅdhnū” officially dropped on April 19, 2025, and is available for purchase at New Balance. The model represents a fusion of retro influences with modern design, continuing New Balance’s tradition of high-impact collaborations in the sneaker world.
