Exclusive Preview of the Nike Kobe 4 Protro “CHBL”

This new colorway is inspired by the China High School Basketball League.

Nike Basketball has continued to expand its offerings of Kobe Bryant’s signature shoes by reintroducing them in Protro (performance retro) form, which updates the iconic designs with modern performance enhancements. Currently, models like the Kobe 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9 are available, and the Kobe 3 Protro is expected to make a return later this year. Recently, Vanessa Bryant previewed several upcoming releases, including a never-before-seen “CHBL” colorway of the Kobe 4 Protro, created to honor the China High School Basketball League (CHBL). This colorway joins Book 1 in paying tribute to the league and its significance.

The Nike Kobe 4 Protro “CHBL” features a striking design, starting with a bold yellow toe that gradually transitions into a light yellow gradient around the heel, providing a fresh and dynamic look. The black lateral Swooshes contrast sharply against the yellow tones, while the lacing options offer a choice between yellow and blue laces, with both sets showcased in the preview. The black Sheath logo at the tongue ties into the right shoe’s lateral heel signature detail, which, along with the speckled accents across the gradient midsole, adds an extra layer of texture and personality to the shoe.

As of now, Nike Basketball has not announced a specific release date for the “CHBL” Kobe 4 Protro, but it is expected to drop sometime this summer. Fans can anticipate its release through Nike SNKRS and select retailers, with the sneaker priced at $190 USD.
