It seems as though criticism is part and parcel of sneaker culture these days. Following the release of photos showing the new Off-White™ x Nike Air Jordan 2 Low snakers, people were quick to trash on it, and Off-White™ Chief Creative Director and Founder, Virgil Abloh, was quick to put these comments to rest.
When told the black and blue colourway was "garbage" because it isn't an OG colourway, Abloh said "being completely stuck in the past is scary...if not criminal.” For us, this interaction seems highly indicative of what exactly Virgil Abloh is trying to do with this collaboration-- taking something we know and love into an evolved form.
The faux-crumbled midsole is a direct nod to the fact that these shoes are directly based off of Michael Jordan’s very own pairs from the late '80s. The Off-White™ x Nike Air Jordan 2 Low shoes come in two colourways-- 'Black Royal' and 'White Red'.
