Dropping in recognition of the 20th anniversary of the project.
Relationship between HUF and Nike began when the latter was just a San Francisco boutique located on Sutter Street. The two parties have worked together on numerous footwear projects throughout the years, including versions of the Air Force 1, Nike SB Dunk Low, Nike SB Dunk High, Air Trainer 1, and more. The HUF x Nike Air Max 1 is one of the pair's first products that is rumoured to be getting a reissue next year.
The pair, which was initially issued in 2004, reportedly makes a comeback in honour of its 20th anniversary. Although no pictures of the retro pair have surfaced, it's likely that they will retain all of their original design elements, such as the "Dark Apple" accents that referred to HUF's main accent colour and the various shades of grey that alternate across the leather uppers, mudguards, and suede overlays. The Benny Gold-designed HUF SF skyline was embroidered on the back of 24 pairs of the Quickstrike version when the original drop in 2004 took place, and a baseball emblem honouring the San Francisco Giants was stitched on the interior.
