From the story of daily life in Black communities, the A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 1 is a metaphor of resilience in facing adversity and evidence towards the power of unity. It is also as a token of a long-term commitment between all parties involved to fight for more opportunities for Black and brown folks.
The retro high OG sneakers come in a combination of Sail and Burgundy Crush color. The upper is fully constructed with texture cracked leather in Sail. In contrast, the ankle collar and signature Swooshes is hit with a premium reptilian finish in Burgundy Crush. The midsole is placed with an aged-look Sail and capped with deep red pigment of burgundy outsole.
There is more to cherish in looking at the special details and luxurious execution that both brands put in. It can be seen at the shoe lining quilted satin finish in an elegant hue of burgundy. A Ma Maniére incorporated its logo under the Nike Air logo as co-branded tongue placement.
A hidden inspirational message on the inside of the ankle flap with a quote from Michael Jordan - “You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them”. Top of it all is a special tag on the insoles that reads, “Airness by A Ma Maniere for Air Jordan” completes the design.
