The first of two color options the duo has designed for this season.
JJJJound and New Balance are starting 2025 with two eagerly awaited versions of the 993, featuring JJJJound’s signature minimalist and earthy aesthetic. The Montreal-based brand continues its collaboration with New Balance by refining its signature hues, inspired by earlier projects like the 2018 990v3, 2020 992, 2022 990v3, and 2023 991. These designs are subtle updates rather than complete overhauls, embodying JJJJound’s understated style.
The first colorway, “Mushroom/White,” combines mesh and suede in earthy brown and gray tones, complemented by two-tone white and bone midsoles, with a sleek silver tongue. The second colorway offers a darker look, featuring black tongues, collars, overlays, and midsoles, reminiscent of JJJJound’s 2022 990v3. Both pairs include subtle branding updates, such as repositioning the “Made in USA” text to the top of the tongue for a cleaner design.
The shoes come in custom co-branded packaging with extra black polyester laces for versatility. The “Mushroom/White” colorway releases on January 16 at 12 PM EST via JJJJound, with a wider New Balance release on January 17. Details for the darker colorway will be announced soon.
With official images now available, anticipation continues to grow, reinforcing JJJJound’s reputation for meticulous, timeless design. Stay tuned for updates on the second colorway and additional release information.
