The Bathing Ape Is Off The Wall And Into The Vans: Here's A Look At Their Collaboration

Japanese streetwear giants turned global icons make their way into the world of skatewear by joining forces with skate-lifestyle brand Vans for their first global project together. Both brands have linked together last year for a release of China - exclusive customs collection and now they are back together for fall ‘21 collaborative capsule collection.

The collaboration brings out the iconic skate high and low top shoes with each one adorning different signature motifs and patterns. The Sk8-Hi 38 DX is designed with BAPE’S ABC camo outline print embedded into the classic Vans black and white color. While the counterpart, Authentic 44 DX meshes Van’s ripstop canvas with BAPE’s first ever camo print from ‘93 in black, brown, and green. Both shoes are styled with a custom tongue label where Van’s classic logo overlay on top of BAPE’s camo signature, while the midsole is in crisp white wrapping Van’s identity of red Waffle outsole.

Along with the footwear is the apparel which consist of hoodie in Black and Heather Grey color. Both outfits are printed at the back with the same design as the custom tongue label and at the front -  both brands' logos are printed in red sitting next to each other as a sign of unity.

Release info: The capsule will be sold first at Bape and Vans retail locations starting on Nov. 1 in China and on Nov. 13 in the Asia-Pacific region. The collection will then release in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa on Nov. 29 and at Vans.com on Nov. 30.
