Marking the 40th anniversary of the Air Jordan 1 with celebrations.
After much anticipation, Jordan Brand has announced the forthcoming release of the legendary Air Jordan 1 “Bred” in its authentic Hi '85 form for the first time in 2025. The news, initially disclosed by Sneaker Files and zsneakerheadz, arrives amidst a period of dwindling interest in the model.
While the Air Jordan 1 once dominated the sneaker landscape, with every colorway selling out upon release, recent years have witnessed a decline in its popularity, attributed to evolving consumer preferences favoring technical running footwear and oversaturation in the market. However, in what appears to be a commemoration of the model's 40th anniversary,
Jordan Brand is reigniting enthusiasm by reintroducing the Air Jordan 1 Hi '85, renowned as the most faithful recreation of the original silhouette. Notably, its "Lost & Found" colorway, a variation of the OG Air Jordan 1 "Chicago," enjoyed significant success in 2022. Dubbed "Bred" for its iconic black and red color scheme, this rendition will feature a full leather construction, reminiscent of its earlier releases.
While previous retros occurred in 2016, 2009, 2001, and 1994, this iteration marks a return to authenticity, foregoing the aged detailing seen on the "Lost & Found" edition. Specifics regarding the release date and pricing are yet to be disclosed, prompting eager anticipation for further updates.
