After the untimely passing of Chris "Spanto" Printup, co-founder of Born x Raised.
The terrible death of Chris "Spanto" Printup, co-founder of Born x Raised, continues to be mourned by the city of Los Angeles and the streetwear scene as a whole. Because of this, Nike has removed the highly anticipated SB Dunk Low and related clothing from the upcoming Born x Raised x Nike SB Collection on the SNKRS platform.
Additional elements, such jewel-encrusted top eyelets and diamond-shaped toe box perforations, are shown in its second appearance.
The medial Swooshes continue to have holographic highlights, and the co-branded heel tabs and pink embroidered logos on the heel counters keep us interested in learning more about the pair.
As there are preparations in place to deliver a substantial number of new footwear partnerships, 2023 is looking good for Nike and its SB label. The Swoosh division is currently extending its reach with a Born x Raised x Nike SB Dunk Low in addition to a two-piece pack with Run the Jewels and a thirst-quenching collaboration with Mexican beverage firm Jarritos.
With a clean white and blue colour palette, the LA-based streetwear brand updates the iconic SB model. The former shade is used on the tongues, quarter panels, and toe boxes, while the latter is used on the overlays. Cross shapes are used instead of the toe boxes' customary dotted perforations, while holographic heel panels and remixed "Born SB" logo are added to the heels. Born x Raised's catchphrase is "One Block at a Time," which the imprint chooses to emphasise on the tongues and toe tips.
Given that the laces contain the words "In Loving Memory" embroidered on them, it is likely that these are intended to honour a brand loved one. In addition, the heels include a 3D block design that reads "On the Turf."
