Jordan Brand planned to extend its Air Jordan 1 celebrations into 2026 with the much-anticipated return of the iconic “Banned” colorway, this time applied to the Low OG silhouette. Unlike the 2011 release, which debuted as a high-top, the new version featured the signature “X” detail on the heel, replacing the typical Air Jordan 1 Low OG heel tab branding, while retaining the classic “Bred” color scheme that made the original so iconic.
The sample also showcased updated interior detailing, including a sockliner text referencing “On September 15th, 1984 Nike created a revolutionary new basketball shoe” and a “10.18.84” callout at the collar, tying the design back to the original Air Jordan 1 launch. While a first look had been revealed, the final retail version and official release date were still pending, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the summer 2026 drop via Nike SNKRS and select retailers worldwide.
