One of the standout releases is the “University Red” colorway of the Kobe 5 Protro, which complements the already revealed purple “Eggplant” version. The “University Red” iteration showcases a bold red upper and midsole, highlighted with gold accents throughout the design. A golden snake wraps around the lateral Swoosh, while additional touches of gold can be seen on the toe and tongue, bringing a striking contrast against the red backdrop.

At this stage, Nike Basketball has yet to officially announce the full release details for the “Year of the Mamba” Kobe 5 Protro colorways, including this particular “University Red” edition. However, updates have shown that official imagery of the shoe is now available, giving fans a closer look at the detailed design. The “University Red” Kobe 5 Protro is expected to launch soon, with official images emphasizing its red and gold theme along with the special packaging that will accompany the pair, including a unique shoe box and carrying bag. As of now, the release is anticipated for mid-January, and the “University Red” colorway is generating excitement ahead of its arrival.
