A nod to North Carolina's aviation legacy, honoring both Michael Jordan and the Wright brothers.
The Air Jordan 1 High OG “First in Flight” celebrates North Carolina's rich history in aviation, notably marked by the Wright brothers' groundbreaking flight in Kitty Hawk in 1903. This heritage is intertwined with Michael Jordan's upbringing in North Carolina and his tenure at the University of North Carolina (UNC), a pivotal period honored by Jordan Brand in various releases.
Sporting UNC's iconic white and blue colors, the shoe also incorporates navy and yellow accents throughout its design. The upper features textured leather in off-white, with UNC blue highlighting the Swooshes, mudguard, eyestays, and collar base. Navy overlays adorn the collar and heel counter, complemented by a golden yellow Wings logo on the collar. A navy tongue tag completes the look with special “First in Flight” branding.
Initially previewed last month, the Air Jordan 1 High OG “First in Flight” has been showcased with detailed imagery highlighting its thematic elements, including a unique sockliner, hang tag, and shoe box design. Scheduled for release on July 6 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers, the shoe will be available in women’s sizing at a retail price of $180 USD.
