The city-inspired Air Force 1 makes its long-awaited return.
Nike is bringing back the Air Force 1 Low “What The LA,” reviving the city-inspired colourway that originally debuted in 2019 alongside the “What The NYC” edition. The sneaker returns as one of the standout entries in the brand’s popular “What The” series, celebrating Los Angeles through a bold mix of colours, materials and textures.
Instead of drawing inspiration from past sneaker releases, the design pays tribute to Los Angeles’ rich sporting culture. Purple and gold nod to the Lakers, while shades of blue, red, black and metallic accents reference the Dodgers, Kings and the city’s wider sporting identity. The result is a vibrant, mismatched look that captures the spirit of Los Angeles without relying on official team branding.
The upper combines suede, leather and glossy overlays, complemented by contrasting Swooshes and speckled midsoles to create a layered, multi-textured finish. “Los Angeles” branding on the heel and insoles further reinforces the city-inspired theme, giving the sneaker a unique identity that celebrates LA’s culture beyond its sports teams.
