Continuing the theme from the Air Max 1 and 97 from the previous year.
The number of holidays and events that Nike celebrates has increased as its global influence has grown. Starting in 2021, Nike will release Air Force 1 Low trainers with Hangul Day designs. It falls on October 9 and is observed as Korean Alphabet Day, a holiday commemorating the creation of Hangul, the Korean alphabet. Nike used the Air Max 1 and 97 with covered Air units last year, and this year it will mark the day with the Dunk Low.
With the Dunk Low, the "Hangul Day" concept is represented by muted tones that combine grey, white, and off-white on the top. Rough suede is used as the basic material, and overlays have leather details. Hangul writing and distinct Nike branding have been created as distinctive detailing at the heel of each pair of shoes, matching the sockliner and charm accessory that come with each pair. The finishing touch is a gum sole to complete the look.
As of this writing, the Swoosh has made no announcements on the Nike Dunk Low "Hangul Day" release schedule. A global launch is anticipated to happen soon after its October debut via Nike and a few select stores in Asia.
