One of the largest Chinese communities outside of Asia served as inspiration.
In recognition of San Francisco's Chinatown and the people, principles, and culture that contributed to the establishment of one of the largest Chinese populations outside of Asia, Nike is getting ready to unveil an unique Dunk High.
The "Gam Saan," or "Gold Mountain," that drew immigrants looking to make a name for themselves during the California Gold Rush, is the subject of this Dunk Highs song. This neighbourhood and the nearby city served as the inspiration for some shoe details. A
n ode to the Californian scenery is made by the earthy tones on the quality suede and leather-constructed upper that are coupled with an ocean-blue outsole. The tongues and insoles have lotus flowers and letters spelling (Gau Gam Saan, or "Old Gold Mountain"), which is intended to express a blessing with each stride. The heel features a Gold Mountain design that represents hope.
On Tuesday, May 9, the "Gold Mountain" Dunk High will go on sale on SNKRS for $135 ($115 for GS sizes).
