Hiroshi Fujiwara, widely regarded as the pioneer of streetwear, has been a prominent figure in collaborations through his label fragment design for many years. His ventures with Nike, particularly projects like the Air Jordan 1, have gained immense popularity. Earlier this year, they teamed up with CLOT for a special Dunk Low. Now, it appears they have another project in the works, this time reimagining Nike’s 1997 Zoom Spiridon.
While the Zoom Spiridon hasn't been as prominent in the market in recent years, the Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 version made appearances in 2020. However, it seems it may play a significant role in Nike’s plans for 2024, as a fragment design-branded pair has emerged. This pair combines navy and white in its synthetic and suede construction, retaining the shoe’s characteristic linework on the white midsole. The co-branding from both parties is limited to “FRGMT” markings on the outsole and the heel tab of the right shoe.
As of now, neither fragment design nor Nike has officially confirmed any details about their upcoming collaboration on the Zoom Spiridon. Keep an eye out for updates, as we anticipate more information to come to light in the coming months, with the pair expected to release in the future through Nike SNKRS and select retailers.
