Opting for Italian craftsmanship for your Air Jordan 1s comes with a higher price tag.
Jordan Brand is set to release its most luxurious versions of the Air Jordan 1 yet, known as the "Wings" collection, in 2024. These releases feature a premium all-Italian leather construction, with the Air Jordan 1 High priced at $975 USD and the Air Jordan 1 Low at $875 USD, marking Jordan Brand's highest in-line prices to date. Initially rumored to be priced between $1,300 USD and $1,500 USD, recent reports have indicated a slightly lower but still significant price point.
The collection, first hinted at in early 2023, includes three styles revealed in photos by Matt "Corporate Got Em" Tomamichel: all-white high tops and low-tops with raw edges showcasing the premium leather, and a low-top pair with a "French Blue" swoosh and regular edging. Each pair features a special "Made in Italy" ball-and-wings tongue tag, possibly a nod to the Air Jordan 2's construction and design. While rumors initially suggested six colorways (three High, three Low), the remaining colors have yet to be unveiled.
The market's response to this high-priced release will be closely watched, considering past experiences with similarly priced Jordan Brand releases like the Air Jordan Shine in 2014 and successful collaborations such as the Just Don x Air Jordan 2 and the Dior x Air Jordan 1 collection. Stay tuned for further updates as more information becomes available.
