Keep an eye out for the highly awaited sneaker dropping this September.

Tom Sachs and Nike have officially rekindled their partnership, with the highly anticipated NikeCraft Mars Yard 3.0 set to arrive later this year. This renewed collaboration follows a period of controversy surrounding Sachs’ workplace conduct, which Nike addressed before moving forward with future projects. The announcement of the Mars Yard 3.0 initially came in 2023, and after a wear-test sample surfaced in November, fans have eagerly awaited a full reveal. Now, Nike has finally provided a detailed look at the upcoming sneaker, showcasing both its familiar aesthetic and a host of updated features.

At first glance, the Mars Yard 3.0 maintains the visual DNA of its predecessors, sticking with the off-white mesh base, golden brown overlays, and red accents throughout the Swoosh and pull tabs. However, this new iteration introduces several notable design changes. A black TPU toecap offers added durability and visual contrast, while the Swoosh has been updated with a silkscreen print for a more streamlined appearance. The heel clip and outsole utilize “Sail”-colored TPU and natural rubber, contributing to the sneaker’s rugged, technical look.

Performance updates are also significant in the Mars Yard 3.0. The shoe now includes a polyurethane React foam midsole, enhanced with a carbon fiber plate for improved energy return and stability. Additional upgrades include oversized eyelets, a staggered eyestay system, ribbed polyester laces, and an open mesh polyester upper that enhances breathability. A revised nylon pull tab at the heel aids with easy on-and-off wear. Sachs also included a cork sockliner and an alternative mesh version, both printed with scientific-style illustrations in his own handwriting, giving the sneaker a personal and experimental feel.

The Tom Sachs x NikeCraft Mars Yard 3.0 is slated for release in September 2025, with a retail price of $275 USD. The launch is expected to occur via Nike and select retailers, potentially through a special rollout similar to previous Mars Yard drops.
