Replacing the expected grey palette with a bold golden yellow finish, this unreleased sample gives fans a rare look into the creative process behind the highly anticipated skate sneaker.
Before the official retail release makes its debut, Yuto Horigome’s upcoming Nike SB Air Force 1 Low collaboration has surfaced in the form of an early “looksee” sample, offering fans a rare behind-the-scenes look into the sneaker’s creative development. While the final retail pair is expected to feature a more muted and understated palette, this unreleased version showcases a much bolder direction, highlighted by vibrant golden yellow accents throughout the design.
Built with skateboarding performance in mind, the sample retains the modified Nike SB Air Force 1 construction designed to handle everyday wear on and off the board. The upper combines breathable mesh side panels with durable leather overlays in soft grey and off-white tones, creating a clean and versatile base. A slightly aged midsole adds a vintage-inspired touch, while the black outsole provides contrast and functional grip. The standout feature, however, is the striking golden yellow detailing found on the Swooshes, inner lining, and heel strip, giving the sneaker a noticeably warmer and more energetic aesthetic compared to the rumored retail version.
Even at the sample stage, Horigome’s signature branding is already fully integrated into the design. His recognizable cross-feather logo appears stamped near the lateral heel, while the back heel tab features a bold red Nike Swoosh layered over a prominent “7” graphic, adding a personal touch to the collaboration. These details further reinforce the connection between the sneaker and Horigome’s identity both as a skater and global ambassador for Nike SB.
Sample pairs like this are especially valued within the sneaker community because they reveal how much a design can evolve before production. According to early reports, the final retail release is expected to replace the bright yellow accents with more subtle grey tones, aligning more closely with the aesthetic of Horigome’s previous Nike SB collaborations. Still, this early version offers a fascinating glimpse into the experimentation and creative decisions behind one of the most anticipated Nike SB releases in recent memory.
