First Look at This Year's Patta x Nike Air Max 1 "Chlorophyll"
Patta and Nike are rumored to be extending their historic partnership with a new release in 2024. This collaboration has seen many memorable releases, beginning in 2009 with the Air Max 1 "Chlorophyll," followed by the "Purple Denim" and "Denim" colorways, all celebrating Patta's fifth anniversary. These early collaborations were highly sought after and set the stage for future joint projects. The duo continued their partnership into 2010, introducing the Air Max 1 "Lucky Green" and the rare Patta x Parra x Nike Air Max 1 "Cherrywood," with fewer than 300 pairs produced, paying homage to Amsterdamās vibrant sneaker culture.
More recently, Patta revisited the Air Max 1 silhouette with the 2021 and 2022 "The Wave" collection, which featured unique wavy mudguards in various colorways such as "Monarch," "Aqua Noise," "Rush Maroon," "Black," "Dark Russet," and "White." This collection demonstrated the creative synergy between Patta and Nike, solidifying their status as a powerhouse collaboration.
Now, rumors suggest that another Patta x Nike Air Max 1 may drop next fall. Speculation has been fueled by a recent Instagram post from Patta's co-founders, who were seen wearing fresh pairs of the "Chlorophyll" Air Max 1, originally released in 2009. The caption "Green and White for the win" alongside a potential anniversary-themed shoe box has led to further speculation that the "Chlorophyll" colorway might be making a comeback, possibly to mark Patta's 20th anniversary. This teaser has excited fans, who eagerly await confirmation.
The anticipation was further heightened earlier this month when an in-hand image of the rumored Air Max 1 "Chlorophyll" surfaced, showing the sneakerās classic design faithfully recreated. The preview revealed details like the "Chlorophyll"-colored denim mudguard, gray textile and nubuck overlays, white textile base, and a white midsole with a touch of green visible in the Air unit window. However, as of now, neither Patta nor Nike have provided official launch details. The release is tentatively expected in September, but fans will need to stay tuned for official announcements and updates.
