Nike unveiled a special edition of the Kobe 4 Protro in collaboration with FC Barcelona, titled the “Team Gold.” This unique release celebrated Kobe Bryant’s deep admiration for the legendary football club and his passion for soccer. The design merged elements from both Kobe’s basketball legacy and Barcelona’s football heritage, creating a must-have for fans of either sport.

The sneaker came dressed in a bold “Team Gold” colorway, featuring a gold upper accented by deep obsidian details on the collar, laces, and outsole. Violet outlines highlighted the FC Barcelona crest, which appeared on the sockliner and special dubrae. A snakeskin-inspired texture on the forefoot and heel added visual depth while nodding to Kobe’s “Black Mamba” identity. Another key detail was the substitution of the usual “Nike Kobe” heel text with the “Mamba” logo, reinforcing the personal and emotional nature of the collaboration.

As part of the performance-focused Protro line, the sneaker offered the same court-ready features that made the Kobe 4 a favorite—lightweight build, responsive cushioning, and excellent traction.
