It is said to be inspired by a player-exclusive worn by Michael Jordan during the 1996 NBA Finals.

The Air Jordan 11 Low “Bred” is making its return in 2025, marking the first time in a decade that this iconic sneaker will be released. Set to be part of Jordan Brand’s summer collection, the retro will stay true to the original design, drawing inspiration from the player-exclusive that Michael Jordan wore during Game 1 of the 1996 NBA Finals against the Seattle SuperSonics. This re-release is expected to be a faithful recreation, featuring all of the classic design elements that made the original so memorable. The first look at the sneaker confirms that it will feature the signature ballistic mesh upper, shiny black patent leather mudguard, red outsole, and white midsole. One notable change is the return of the original black sockliner, which had been replaced with a non-OG red version in previous “Bred” releases.

The Air Jordan 11 Low “Bred” is set to release on April 6, 2025, and will be available in a full family size run. Prices will range from $60 USD for toddler-sized pairs to $190 USD for adult sizes. This retro release is significant not only for its connection to Jordan’s 1996 Finals appearance but also because it marks a return of one of the most popular colorways in Air Jordan history. The “Bred” colorway, first introduced in 1996, became a staple in sneaker culture, and the low-top version, inspired by the PE Jordan wore, will give fans a chance to own a piece of history.

The Air Jordan 11 Low “Bred” has a unique place in sneaker lore, especially considering that the Air Jordan 11 Low didn’t debut until 2001, long after the high-top version was released. While the original high-top Air Jordan 11 was worn by Michael Jordan during the 1995 NBA Playoffs, the low-top version had its own moment in the spotlight, with Jordan sporting a PE version of the “Bred” colorway in the 1996 Finals. This upcoming release will be part of a wider collection of retro Jordan 11 Lows, continuing the legacy of the iconic silhouette. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
