The typical canvas construction of the base layer was replaced by silky satin nylon by Jumpman designers.
The first-ever Air Jordan 1 KO Low version and collaboration was unveiled by Union LA earlier this year, and since then, the silhouette has released a plethora of fresh hues over the course of the spring and summer. But now that the Air Jordan 1 KO "Field Purple" colorway has been officially debuted, Jordan Brand is drawing our focus back to its original model.
The upper structure of this iteration saw a significant change from the designers of the sportswear imprint. They used a smooth satin nylon that makes up the majority of the base layer instead of its usual canvas. While 'Field Purple' details are scattered around the toe boxes, Swooshes, ankle flaps and Nike tongue branding, tongues, quarter panels and overlays are all filled in with a single black colour. The flaps have the wings logo, which is printed in pure black. The treads and midsoles of the bottoms have been adorned with wallpaper with specks, as can be seen if you look closely. While the latter chooses a crisp white, the former has multicoloured patterns.
Air Jordan 1 KO "Field Purple" retails for $150 USD and was released on July 7.
