Launching next year to mark the 35th anniversary of the silhouette.

Jordan Brand is set to make a significant impact with its Air Jordan 5 releases this year, including the much-anticipated “Black Cat” colorway. However, the spotlight is already turning to 2025, when the Air Jordan 5 will celebrate its 35th anniversary. Among the exciting releases planned for that milestone year is the return of the iconic “Black Metallic” colorway, which will be featured in Jordan Brand’s “Reimagined” series. This series gives classic designs a modern twist, and the “Black Metallic Reimagined” is expected to update the original look with white laces and reflective piping, while still preserving the classic black, silver, and red color palette.

The “Black Metallic” colorway originally debuted in 1990 and has seen re-releases in 2000, 2007, 2011, and 2016, along with a low-top golf version in 2020. The new version promises to stay close to the original design, as shown in recent low-resolution images, which reveal a black nubuck upper, silver midsole detailing, and an icy outsole. As the release date approaches, more detailed imagery and information will become available. Keep an eye out for updates and official announcements regarding this highly anticipated release.
