Delivering a fully themed redesign of the iconic sneaker.
Bronx Girls Skate, a collective founded in 2020, has been championing women in skateboarding, fostering a more inclusive scene not only in its hometown of the Bronx but around the globe. Their mission to empower and uplift women skaters is now being elevated through a new collaboration with Nike SB. For their first joint project, Nike handed over its iconic SB Dunk Low silhouette, allowing the group to reinterpret the beloved sneaker through their own lens.
The Bronx Girls Skate x Nike SB Dunk Low came packed with rich, thoughtful details. A stingray-inspired black leather upper set the tone, accented by bold orange, red, and green piping and crisp white Swooshes. Unique branding elements included a golden “BXGS” dubrae, New York-inspired heel hardware, and debossed text reading “THE BRONX” and “THE WORLD” on the left and right shoes respectively. Co-branded tags adorned the tongues, and a custom sockliner completed the design.
While an official release date had yet to be confirmed at the time, the sneakers were expected to drop by the end of the year via Nike SNKRS and select skate shops. The retail price was set at $140 USD.
