Completing the collection by combining with the previously disclosed "Bubbles" pair.
Sneaker insiders have reported that Nike SB is teaming up with The Powerpuff Girls for a collaboration set to launch later this year. Although there's been no official statement from Nike or Cartoon Network, the news coincides with the announcement of a Powerpuff Girls reboot last year.
This collaboration is expected to feature a Dunk model. Craig McCracken, the original creator, expressed excitement about developing new characters and stories for these beloved creations. The Powerpuff Girls are also making a return in a live-action remake, with Chloe Bennett, Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault taking on the roles of Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup.
Originally announced in 2021, the show's premiere has been postponed indefinitely due to reworking by CW. Stay tuned for more details on the potential The Powerpuff Girls x Nike collaboration, and you'll also have the chance to snag a pair through Flight Club.
In an update, a sneak peek of the collaborative offering has been revealed - a SB Dunk Low âBlossom,â inspired by the showâs main character. This shoe boasts a vibrant pink color, a nod to Blossom's signature hue, with orange accents representing her hair. The heel tab features an enlarged embroidery of one of Blossomâs eyes.
While images of the âBubblesâ and âButtercupâ pairs are yet to surface, it's expected they'll follow the same design ethos, showcasing their respective characterâs colors. Rumors suggest that only one of the three colorways will have a general release, while the other two will be more limited and available through select channels. If these speculations hold true, the collection is anticipated to drop in December.
As we inch closer to the release of The Powerpuff Girls x Nike SB Dunk Low collection, early looks at the pairs continue to emerge. The "Buttercup" pair features a green satin upper, black Swooshes, and a midsole above a translucent outsole. The "Bubbles" pair displays a shimmering blue finish, joined by yellow Swooshes and laces, and a black midsole. The collection is estimated to launch on December 14 via Nike SNKRS and select skate shops, each priced at $135 USD.
