An Early Glimpse of the Awake NY x Jordan Air Ship

Revealed at the store's grand opening celebration for Awake.

Awake NY and Jordan Brand are beginning a new cooperation in 2023, and their first joint endeavour is a vibrant interpretation of the Air Ship. The sneaker, which was unveiled at a boisterous and wild opening party for Awake NY's new brick-and-mortar flagship in NYC's Lower East Side, opens a new chapter in the company's footwear endeavours. It was presented in 'if you know, you know' fashion, hanging from the ceiling without any fanfare.

Although the precise source of creative inspiration for Awake NY's joint Air Ship is still unknown, it has a strikingly mismatched colour scheme: its right foot has red accents and red trim, while its left foot has blue accents and trim made of snakeskin. With white leather uppers, "aged" midsoles and outsoles, silver Swooshes, and an outlined version of Awake NY's "A" emblem embroidered on the lateral forefoot, this yin-and-yang of colourful decoration is balanced.

Although Angelo Baque's brand and the Jumpman have never worked together before, the Awake NY x Jordan Air Ship is by no means their first piece of co-designed footwear. Awake NY collaborated with ASICS from 2019 until the beginning of this year, as well as Reebok from 2019 to 2021, Timberland in 2020, Vans in 2021 and again in 2023, and Crocs from 2021 to 2022.
