Nike Basketball honored Kobe Bryant’s legendary high school legacy with the return of the classic Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Lower Merion Aces Away”.
Before becoming an NBA icon, Kobe Bryant first rose to prominence as a teenage standout at Lower Merion High School in Pennsylvania. To celebrate that early chapter of his career, Nike brought back the Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Lower Merion Aces Away”, reviving the beloved 2010 colorway inspired by the school’s road uniforms.
The sneaker showcases a sleek Metallic Silver upper paired with bold Team Red accents outlining the Swooshes, heel counter, and Kobe’s signature Sheath logo on the tongue. Crisp white details on the laces and midsole help balance the metallic and crimson tones, while the Lower Merion “Aces” logo stamped on the heel keeps the tribute to Bryant’s high school legacy front and center.
As part of the Protro (performance retro) update, the silhouette was upgraded with modern technology, including enhanced Zoom Air cushioning and improved traction designed for today’s style of play. The Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Lower Merion Aces Away” released on March 23, 2026, for $190 USD via Nike SNKRS and select retailers.
